What does a social worker do?

Social workers provide support to individuals and families during difficult times. This includes counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and connecting people to resources such as housing, healthcare, education, and financial assistance.

How is social work different from therapy or counseling?

Therapy focuses mainly on mental and emotional health. Social work covers that and the broader picture—helping with daily needs, family support, child welfare, and community resources to promote long-term stability and well-being.

Who can benefit from social work services?

Anyone facing personal, family, or social challenges can benefit. Social work services support children, parents, and individuals dealing with issues like trauma, housing instability, mental health, or navigating the child welfare system.
